Should you upgrade to a custom real estate IDX ? Yes!!!
Since we upgraded to a custom REW IDX our leads have increased significantly. The search engine friendly pages are spiderable and have increased long tail traffic to our website.
Previously the only company who provided custom IDX solutions was REW, however there are some new players emerging.
There are only a few custom IDX providers, below are the only three that I’m aware of.
1. REW Custom IDX ( we use this product and recommend it )
2. Real Geeks Custom IDX ( never used this product, but seems strong and will launch in a few months )
3. AMPS211 ( never used this product, but Mike is a great guy and is very honest and ethical . I’m sure once it’s 100% complete it will rock )
We have new sites in the process of going some major redesigns and we’ll most likely incorporate one of the new IDX vendors to test them out Nothing like playing with a new toy.
I’ll update and compare the major differences between the products soon. If you know of any other custom IDXs please comment below and I’ll update the list.

Custom IDX is well worth the investment. If you want to generate your business through the web, it is my opinion that it is almost impossible to do without the custom IDX.
A good IDX is crucial. People visit real estate sites to see homes. They will revisit your site if you provide them with what they want.
WOW…REW said it takes up to 50 hours to create a custom IDX? At $100 an hour that’s a lot of dough upfront but as an investment should pay itself back

My site is a custom idx/rets site. I am also a web developer so I have built the site myself. It is very rough at the moment but will soon be polished up and I plan to offer it to others.
Let us know when its complete and we’ll add it to the list and maybe take it for a test drive.
It’s always nice to have options.

We’ve been an REW customer for a couple years… and I am always checking out the competition, but haven’t found any company that can compete yet. Not to mention that the bar is always moving in website technology.
No question, as far as websites go REW is the best.
