Put The SEO in Your Real Estate Content

Getting Started

Writing an article rich in real estate content keywords will help drive traffic to your real estate website, and enhance your visitors’ involvement in your real estate website. When your content shows up high on search results you become an expert and are chosen as one of the first clicks for a visitor.

How do I create real estate content with SEO?

It’s important to keep articles and blog posts between 300 and 500 words. Online web readers are impatient and you need to get their attention fast and get them through to the end of your important article. So keep it short.

Since you have short real estate articles and blog posts it is imperative that you determine a narrow topic for your article. Rather than a general article on shopping for real estate, you could narrow that focus to “Shopping for Homes with Your Children.”

Choose specific keywords and phrases that pertain to your topic. Include that keyword in the title when possible. Then write your real estate article and mention the keyword numerous times throughout. A good keyword density ratio is typically between 3% to 5%. That means a 500 word real estate article should have a specific keyword or words mentioned 15 to 25 times.

It is also a great thing to post photos (with alt image text) as they can be big attention getters.

It seems that the style of SEO that reaps the greatest long-term benefits — in both real estate and other industries — occurs when the right content is given to the right people at the right time. Yes, I know that this sounds like the old direct marketing mantra, but it can be applied to search engine optimization, as well.

Essentially, giving good content to people who want it and at the moment that they are searching for it will keep them coming back and, ideally, prompt them to spread the word about a useful website.

One helpful SEO tactic to boost rankings and to be found by individuals such as these is to be listed in the two main web directories: DMOZ and Yahoo!. That way, you can be found by the right people and garner strong links from reputable sources. It’s killing two SEO birds with one stone.

Great Points and your right on regarding Yahoo and DMOZ. Even though DMOZ has left me out in the cold. :(

All Great advice, although I think having lots of said articles is even better then just some with the great key word density. I am sure that is what you ment though.

    Nice article

I think its important for real estate professionals to write for the consumers. Of course you want to use the best SEO practices, but you also want people to read what you write. You want to be know as an expert in your field. There are too many sites out there that are soley written for SEO. I imagine these sites produce few leads, even though they’re ranked high in the SERPs.

I agree with Dylan that you always have to keep your visitor in mind when writing or else they are likely not to stay once they hit your site. You can’t forget about keywords, but I wonder if even 15-25 times to repeat a keyword is too often.

Carolyn, YES that’s way to much.

You can actually rank with just having your keyword on your title tag and H1.

I hear a lot of SEO experts saying that the density should be no more than 10%, but I agree with you that 3-5% is better for the searches. Quick question, am I notified via e-mail when a response is made? There is no button for it so am assuming it is automatic? Thanks

It also makes sense to include keywords in the title html of your webpage in addition to your content. This helps the search engines understand what your page is about.
