Does your real estate website receive enough traffic? Do your traffic statistic results meet your goals? If not, how can you get more traffic and visitors to view your online presence? Directory advertising!
What is a real estate directory?
You can direct mega traffic to your real estate website when you create a listing on multiple real estate directories. Listings can be free or for a fee. When you set up a listing you agree to have the online directory post a one-way text link to your real estate website. Link listing can be an affordable way to get your online real estate presence known and increase search engine rankings.
Think of an online real estate directory as a listing in the Yellow Pages. A free listing usually gives you a basic link with your real estate website name and a very short description. With a paid listing you can increase the chances of an internet surfer clicking on your link. With a small investment your real estate directory listings can include a photo, a logo, top premium placement, and a longer description.
Do It Yourself
There are many real estate directories available on the internet. You can choose to submit your link yourself to each one individually and save money. This process is painstaking, and time consuming.
Full Service Directory Submission
You can also choose to have a special submission service do the listing for you. This can save a lot of time and it will get your real estate website one the most popular directories fast. You can choose affordable packages that get your listing on a dozen or so directories, or up to hundreds and thousands.
However you choose to get your real estate website listing on a directory, you stand a better chance of directing traffic to your website when you advertise.

Are real estate directories really that valuable any more, what with the search engines getting more fussy about what makes for quality?
The directories aren’t nearly as valuable as before, however there are a handful that are still great!
I’ve tested a brand new site/domain with only 12 directories and it’s in the top 10 for the three most competitive keywords in that particular city.
I’ve found that it’s better to comment on Real Estate Blogs … Blogs rank higher and you get more exposure on the web. It’s also good to leave a link to your site like this: Real Estate Rochester MN, and when you do comment don’t forget to run the post through a social bookmarking site.

“don’t forget to run the post through a social bookmarking site” Very True, most Realtors don’t realize how much this will help, especially of profiles that may not ever get cached.
