Real Estate Link Bait

There are several ways to build links to your real estate website. My favorite strategy is to provide compelling content that other Realtors, Loan Officers or Real Estate Bloggers will want to link to. This is also known as a link bait by many search engine consultants.

What is a link bait? Definition by Search Engine Watch:

link bait: Editorial content, often sensational in nature, posted on a Web page and submitted to social media sites in hopes of building inbound links from other sites. Or, as Matt Cutts of Google says, “something interesting enough to catch people’s attention.”

So you’ve come up with a great link bait piece, now what? Just like with anything else you’ll need to market the great content you just posted on your blog or website. The best way to attract readership and links to your website is through Social Media Sites such as Digg or Propeller.

Make sure to use attention grabbing headings, that will draw in readers. Your main startigy should be on obtaining readership and or links. So what are the best ways to obtaining the above, well here a just a few.

  • Causing Fear
  • Being Funny
  • Attacking
  • Creating User Resources (MLS map features, school rating, etc)
  • Interviewing Industry Experts
